The Commemorative Air Force Dixie Wing and Atlanta Regional Airport (Falcon Field) in Peachtree City, Ga., will launch the area’s newest fun run at 4 p.m. Nov. 5, 2016. The inaugural “Keep ‘em Flying” 10k/5k run and one-mile fun run-walk will be on and around the airport and CAF museum grounds. Participants will run next to vintage WWII warbirds, corporate jets and general aviation aircraft. Proceeds from the event will help fund educational out-reach programs at the CAF Dixie Wing, and a new children’s playground at the Atlanta Regional Airport.

“This unique road race venue will provide runners with an exciting new option to challenge themselves while supporting educational and community efforts,” said Dixie Wing Leader Jay Bess. “Following the run, join us for the first“Hops & Props” Georgia Beer Fest at 5 p.m., sponsored by the Peachtree City Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.”

“This is an opportunity to fund a much-needed children’s playground at Atlanta Regional Airport,” said Airport Director Hope Macaluso. “We also look forward to hosting all of the runners and offering them a chance to get more acquainted with the airport environment right here in Peachtree City.”

“Hops and Props” will offer an opportunity to wander through the Dixie Wing hangar, sample locally brewed craft beer, enjoy live music, mingle with fellow runners and get up-close with rare aircraft.

“Keep ‘em Flying” Run participants may register at a reduced rate through Oct. 17, 2016 at http://keepemflyingrun.com/. Register for the 10k, 5k or 1-mile fun-run-walk, or  register for any run combined with  “Hops and Props” at a special rate, also reduced through Oct. 17.
