The Temora Aviation Museum, one of the great antipodean flying museums, will be holding their biennial air show, Warbirds Downunder 2015, on Saturday, November 21st at the historic WWII-era Temora Aerodrome in New South Wales, Australia. For the very first time, however, they will also be including an evening show on the preceding Friday (November 20th). The museum decided to add the Friday Evening Airshow because so many visitors come from great distances to Temora for this biennial event, and the evening show will be an added benefit and incentive for them. With so many Warbirds scheduled to take part (Click HERE for the list), the addition of the Friday Evening Airshow will ensure that they can all be comprehensively displayed.

Museum Chief Executive, Kenny Love, said “This is something that we have wanted to do for quite some time now. We have received so many requests for a Friday Evening Airshow and what better opportunity than to include it as part of Warbirds Downunder. Over the years, we have been fortunate to receive fantastic support from other organisations and private Warbird owners who bring their aircraft to participate in Warbirds Downunder, and we are really looking forward to hosting this event in November. We will keep visitors informed as plans unfold and release a program of events closer to the Airshow.”

With this announcement the Mayor of Temora Shire Council, Rick Firman was delighted and commented “Temora Shire Council, together with our community, is thrilled with the announcement to expand Warbirds Downunder 2015 to include Friday, as well as Saturday. This is great news for Temora Shire, especially for our local businesses. It is not only Temora Shire that benefits from WARBIRDS DOWNUNDER, but the entire Riverina region – and beyond! We warmly commend the Temora Aviation Museum team on this initiative. We know it will be bigger and better than 2013. The Aviation Museum is truly a jewel in the crown of Temora Shire and we remain grateful to them for all they do”. The exciting addition of a Friday Evening Airshow is certain to be popular with visitors and further promotes Warbirds Downunder as a destination Warbird Airshow in regional Australia. With tickets going on sale from 10am May 5th, 2015, visitors are asked to stay tuned to the Airshow website for updates as they are released.

Nowhere else in the world, other than Temora, Australia, can you see a flying Lockheed Hudson bomber, CAC Boomerang or Spitfire Mk.VIII, and you will have the extraordinarily rare treat to see airworthy examples of the Gloster Meteor and English Electric Canberra as well! So be sure to add Temora Aerodrome to your list of places to visit, especially during the Warbirds Downunder air show!
