In October, 2014, Planes of Fame submitted the necessary paperwork to have their ride program, or “Living Heritage Flight Experience”, reinstated. After many years with an excellent safety record, the FAA stopped allowing exemption renewals or extensions effectively killing the ride programs for many warbirds that had exemptions expire during the FAA moratorium. This has been reversed recently with a lot of the previously operating groups such as Collings, EAA, and Yankee Air Museum resuming or continuing their ride programs for hire. Right now, the petition is currently available at the following link (Click HERE) for public viewing and a show of support. Please head over to the website and help Planes of Fame restore their ride program to educate the public about the environment that so many of the Greatest Generation endured.
