March 19, 1941 was the inaugural date of Tuskegee Airmen (or the 99th Pursuit Squadron): the first division of all African-American pilots in the Army Air Corp.  It was a great victory in the struggle for civil equality, African-Americans not having been allowed to enlist during World War I.
