B-25 Mitchell Association Closes Down

wpsynd19746Though the B-25 Mitchell Association got off to a good start, lack of member content contribution has led to the founder of the association, Rick Mitchell (no relation) to wind down the operation of the no-cost association.

As a group that was designed as a free-to-use organization who’s only member “dues” was information and stories relating to the North American B-25 Mitchell, when the initial flurry of activity died down, there was little continuing interest, evidenced by the cessation of incoming submissions. The group simply failed to reach the critical mass required for it to be self-sustaining, and has ceased operations.

Other groups started by Mitchell, particularly the A-26 Invader Association are reportedly doing quite well and is evolving into a vibrant community of enthusiasts of the Douglas aircraft.
