It was March 8th 1957, 56 years ago, when the Grumman F11 Tiger entered service with the United States Navy Attack Squadron 156 (VA-156). The world’s first carrier-based supersonic fighter, this single-seat fighter aircraft was operated during the 1950s and 1960s.

  1. It didn’t stay in the inventory long did it? Did it ever participate in combat missions/ I don’t recall ever seeing anything about it during the Vietnam war.
