A Veteran’s Story Goes On The Air

One of our frequent writers, Pete Mecca, has been offered his own radio show. The program is called “A Veteran’s Story”, the same as his weekly newspaper articles. Pete will be interviewing veterans and active duty personnel for some time now. His first guest is Colonel Patrica Blassie, the sister of 1st LT Michael Blassie whose aircraft, a Cessna A-37B Dragonfly, was shot down over South Vietnam near An Lộc on May 11th, 1972. He was listed as Missing in Action for almost three decades, but after arduous,  heartbreaking effort, Colonel Blassie and her family finally found Michael’s remains: Buried at the Tomb of the Unknown in Arlington National Cemetery. This will be a fascinating story of familial dedication and – finally – closure.

This program will air this Wednesday, June 24th, at 10:00am. To listen in, click on the image of the radio at the following link: americaswebradio.com. You can also listen to the program at a later time by accessing the archives. Pete Mecca is a Vietnam veteran himself, and has interviewed over 400 veterans of all ranks, military branches, and numerous wars.
