2013 Cape Girardeau Regional Air FestivalWhile this year’s show will be somewhat scaled-back from the last outing in 2010 which included performances by the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron who are currently grounded due to sequestration, the 2013 Gape Girardeau Regional Air Festival in Cape Girardeau, Missouri is gladly welcomed back after a two-year hiatus.

Currently scheduled to appear are the Aerostars Aerobatic Team, Kent Pietsch in his Interstate Cadet, Bill Leff in his T-6 Texan, Randy Ball in a MiG-17F fighter jet and Mike Rinker, who will fly an aerobatic Sukhoi Su-26. There will also be parachute team performances.

The Commemorative Air Force Arizona Wing‘s North American B-25 Mitchell, “Maid in the Shade” will also be part of the show, and will be offering flight experiences for the week leading up to the festival and on June 30th, the Sunday after the show. Several other acts and attractions may be added as the show dates near.

Organizers also are setting up a “hangar dance” featuring a live band June 28 as well as a special memorial tribute to veterans will at 6:30PM on June 28 during which family and community members can participate by launching a skylantern after which there will be a fireworks show.

Gates will open at 5PM and the show will begin at 6:30PM June 28. On June 29, gates will open at 10AM and shows will begin at 12:30PM.

Tickets are $5 and will be available at the gate or in advance online at CapeGirardeauAirFestival.com.
