Steve Jantz reports that last Saturday a small group of volunteers installed the the first engine on “Doc”. This is a milestone on this ongoing project. Two more engines await preparation and to be installed. A fourth engine is in the finishing stages at Anderson Aeromotive,, Grangeville, Idaho. Progress Continues.

Recently the restoration has gain a lot of momentum. In October the volunteers have worked to hang the first of four restored & rebuilt engine nacelles.  San Antonio Propeller Service packed the first two propellers which were  delivered to Wichita. The propellers were fully restored and balanced in the San Antonio based  shop so the Doc’s team will only have to install them once all four engines will be installed. Another important update was about the fuel cells, almost half of the 26 available on the B-29 are ready to be installed.
