Yanks Air Museum in Chino, California will be hosting their “Top Gun Open Cockpit Day” on March 16, 2013 from 10AM to 3PM. This may be your only chance to check out the cockpit of what is possibly the most famous fighter jet ever, the F-14 Tomcat, immortalized in the Tom Cruise movie, “Top Gun.”
Once you’ve taken your seat within the the Tomcat’s authentic and completely original cockpit and experience the pilot’s eye view and feel of the controls of this famous craft you’ll be hard pressed not to channel your inner “Maverick.”
While at the facility you will also have the opportunity to tour their Super Constellation, train with the 82nd Airborne Living History Re-enactors including jumping from their C-47 Skytrain, take a flight on a PT-17 Biplane or take an aerobatic turn in a T-6 Texan.
In addition to all of the special activities that accompany this event you can also view the museum’s extensive collection of significant aircraft.
Packages available include admission, cockpit access, posters, food and fun.
