PRESS RELEASE – Young visitors to a family day at the RAF Museum Cosford next week can take part in fun Easter activities organized by students at City of Wolverhampton College.  Youngsters can make an Easter basket, play with chocolate scented play-doh, have their face painted as an Easter bunny, and dress up and pretend to be a pilot or member of airline cabin crew at the event on Wednesday 25 March.

They can also tuck-in to healthy fruity snacks provided by Tesco at Madeley and, while the little ones are having fun, mums can get skincare and make-up tips from staff from Boots. The students, who are studying for a range of early years qualifications at the college’s Wellington Road campus, have organized the activities to promote the benefit of play on learning and development to parents, and to test the planning, organizational and team work skills they have learnt on their course.

Julie Brierely, education assistant at the RAF Museum Cosford, said: “This is the fourth family event we have held at the museum in conjunction with City of Wolverhampton College and, thanks to the huge effort of all the students involved, we are able to offer our younger visitors access to these free fun and tactile workshops within a unique and inspiring environment.“The events are always very popular and it is a pleasure to work alongside the college in developing the students’ skills and expanding the well established partnership between the two organizations further.”

The event runs from 12.30pm to 2.30pm and all parents or carers with children under the age of five are welcome to attend.  To register for the free event email the RAF Museum Cosford access and learning team at learning-cosford@rafmuseum.org
